The Dataportability Initiative (who thinks of these boring names?) announced that they have everyone on board to work out a protocol so that Facebook talks to Plaxo which also talks to Google and then a whole bunch of others. As they put it:
“This means users will be able to access their friends and media across all the applications, social networking sites and widgets that implement the design into their systems.”
Well that seems to make sense. Now all we need to solve all the worlds problems is to put an iPod touch interface onto everything.
